Lazy Earl

Kick back and have a cocktail with our friend, the Lazy Earl. He takes his tea like we do, with gin.

  • 1 oz New Deal Gin No.1
  • ½ oz Earl Grey simple syrup (recipe below)
  • club soda
  • lemon wedge

Stir gin and simple syrup with ice, and top with club soda and a squeeze of fresh lemon.

Earl Grey Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 6 bags of your favorite earl grey tea

Stir together sugar and water until sugar is dissolved, then steep tea for 15 minutes. Squeeze out bags and let syrup cool. Store in refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Gin Tarragon Sour

This botanical sour recipe has a wealth of complimentary ingredients anchored by our hearty Gin No. 1.

  • 1 ½ oz New Deal Gin No. 1
  • ½ oz Fresh Grapefruit
  • ½ oz Fresh Lemon
  • ¾ Honey Syrup (honey diluted with equal parts water)
  • ½ oz egg white
  • 2 large sprigs of tarragon
  • 2 oz dry sparkling wine

Dry shake all ingredients, except the wine, without ice. Re-shake with ice and double strain into 8 oz coup glass. Top with dry sparkling wine. Garnish with a small tarragon tip.

Lavender Lemonade

  • 2 oz New Deal Gin No. 1
  • 2 oz lemon juice
  • 2 oz lavender simple syrup (recipe below)
  • Soda water

Build over ice in a high ball glass, top with soda water, and enjoy. Garnish with a lemon wheel and a lavender sprig.

Lavender Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 T fresh or dried lavender flowers
  • 2 cups sugar

In a small saucepan, combine equal parts sugar to water (for example 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar) on med high heat and stir continuously until sugar is dissolved. Bring to boil, add lavender flowers and reduce heat. Let simmer for 5 min. Remove from heat and let sit for an hour. Pour into bottle and refrigerate for up to a week.


The herbaceous nature of Gin No. 1 makes for a toothsome Negroni.

  • 1 oz New Deal Gin No.1
  • 1 oz sweet vermouth
  • 1 oz Campari
  • lemon or orange twist

Mix Campari, gin and vermouth and shake or stir with ice until chilled. You can serve it up in a martini glass or over ice in a lowball glass. Garnish with lemon or orange twist.

Tarragon-Gin Lemonade

  • 2 oz New Deal Gin No.1
  • ½ oz St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur
  • 1 t simple syrup
  • 2 large sprigs of tarragon
  • 3 lemon slices
  • soda water or sparkling wine or Belgian blond ale

Muddle tarragon, lemons, and simple syrup in the bottom of a highball glass. Add gin and elderflower liqueur. Add ice and stir in glass. Top with your choice of effervescent drink. Serve immediately.

  • 2 oz New Deal Gin No. 1
  • ¼ oz olive juice
  • ¼ oz orange liqueur

Stir with ice and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with an orange twist and an olive.


  • 2 oz New Deal Gin No.1
  • 1 oz sweet vermouth
  • 1 Tablespoon Luxardo Maraschino Cherry Liqueur
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters

Lawn Party

For a savory twist on the classic Greyhound, this tasty cocktail does the trick. It’s one of our top summertime faves in the Tasting Room.

  • 2 oz New Deal Gin No. 1
  • 1 oz grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

Shake well with ice. Pour over fresh ice in a rocks glass.


Gin Old Fashioned

  • 2 0z New Deal Gin No. 1
  • 2 dashes Fees Brothers Old Fashioned Bitters
  • 2 orange wedges
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 1 Toschi cherry

Muddle 1 orange wedge, 1 sugar cube and 1 Toschi cherry in a rocks glass without ice. Add gin and Fees Brothers Old Fashioned Bitters. Shake with ice, and pour into a rocks glass.  Garnish with an orange wedge.
