Cascadia Collins

Even Jerry Thomas would approve of this bitter-spicy-sweet twist on his classic Tom Collins.

  • 1 oz Cascadia American Bitter Liqueur
  • ½ oz New Deal Ginger Liqueur
  • ½ oz Bee Local Honey Water
  • 1 rosemary sprig for garnish

Add all ingredients to a collins glass with ice and stir to incorporate. Top with soda and garnish with a sprig of rosemary.

Classic Hot Toddy

  • 1.5 oz New Deal Bourbon or New Deal Brandy
  • 1 T honey
  • .5 oz fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup hot water
  • lemon wedge, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, whole star anise

Place one lemon wedge, one cinnamon stick, 5 whole cloves, and one whole star anise into a warmed mug. Pour the bourbon or brandy and lemon juice over spices. Add hot water and stir in honey until dissolved.

Enjoy a slow Sunday brunch with our gingery take on the Screwdriver.

Mix ingredients together and pour over ice in an 8 oz glass. Garnish with an orange wedge.

Ginger Lemon Drop

Pucker up! This Lemon Drop recipe is not too sour and not too sweet, thanks to the amazing smoothness of New Deal Vodka and our Ginger Liqueur.

  • 1 oz New Deal Vodka
  • ½ oz New Deal Ginger Liqueur
  • ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 barspoon simple syrup
  • lemon twist for garnish

Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Muddy Roots

Smoky, spicy, and sweet, this cocktail brings balance of flavor to an art form.

Mix ingredients over ice in an old-fashioned glass or highball glass, then top with soda water.

Rosemary Martini

Here we have a wintery version of the classic gin martini. Perfectly balanced to capture the crisp weather outside!

  • 2 oz Portland Dry Gin 33
  • ½ oz Dolin Blanc Vermouth
  • ½ oz rosemary simple syrup
  • spring of rosemary for garnish

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass and stir. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a sprig of rosemary.

Rosemary Simple Syrup
Combine equal parts sugar to hot water (for example 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar) and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add a handful of fresh rosemary, cover and let steep for an hour. Strain and cool.

Water Ave Espresso Martini

MudPuddle, Water Ave, Coffee LiqThis rich espresso martini will make the perfect dessert cocktail for your  dinner party.

  • 1 oz New Deal Coffee Liqueur
  • 2 oz New Deal Mud Puddle Bitter Chocolate Vodka
  • 2 shots of Water Avenue Espresso

Shake all ingredients with ice until well chilled and strain into a martini glass.

Hot Monkey Punch

Hot Monkey_SOMA tropical holiday punch that is sure to get your guests feeling frisky! Pok Pok SOM Thai Basil Drinking Vinegar is available at New Deal’s Tasting Room and at select local retailers. Makes enough for a crowd!

Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a punch bowl, adding bitters generously to taste. Add pineapple rings and maraschino cherries for garnish (you can freeze them into an ice ring overnight!) Serve chilled or over ice.

Pear Vanilla Sparkler

  • 1/4 of a ripe pear, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 oz. honey syrup*
  • 1/4 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz. New Deal Distiller’s Cut Rum
  • 1/2 oz. Navan (vanilla cognac)
  • 2 oz. chilled Champagne

In the bottom of a shaker, muddle the pear in the honey syrup and lemon juice. Add the New Deal Distiller’s Cut Rum and Navan and stir briefly with ice.

 

Strain into a chilled champagne flute or martini glass and finish with Champagne.

Garnish with a couple slices of pear.

*Honey Syrup: In a small saucepan add equal parts of honey and water, bring to a simmer until the honey has melted into the water then allow to cool.

Winter Rum Punch

  • 4 parts New Deal Distiller’s Cut Rum
  • 2 parts apple cider
  • 2 parts New Deal Ginger Liqueur
  • 1 part maple syrup
  • 1 part fresh lemon juice

Combine ingredients in a punch bowl.

Add ice when ready to serve, stir well, and pour into high ball or wine glasses.

Garnish with a cinnamon stick or a long julienne slice of ginger root.

Triple Cider Punch

  • 1 375mL bottle of New Deal Ginger Liqueur
  • 3 cups dry hard cider (such as Wandering Aengus)
  • 1 750 mL bottle of sparkling cider
  • 8 cups apple cider
  • 1 1/2 cups whiskey of choice
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Several dashes orange bitters
  • 1 orange sliced into rounds, for garnish
  • Cinnamon sticks, for garnish

Combine the New Deal Ginger Liqueur, ciders, whiskey, lemon juice, and bitters in a large punch bowl or pitcher. Stir to combine.

Top with orange slices and cinnamon sticks.

Ladle into ice-filled punch glasses.

SERVES 15-20 (makes approximately 17 cups liquid)

True Chocolate Martini

  • 2 oz Mud Puddle Bitter Chocolate Vodka
  • 1 oz vanilla vodka
  • .25-0.5 oz simple syrup (to taste)

Shake with ice and strain into a sugar rimmed martini glass.

Muddy Russian

What could make a White Russian better? Chocolate vodka and Coffee Liqueur made in Portland.

  • .75  oz Mud Puddle Bitter Chocolate Vodka
  • 1.5 oz New Deal Coffee Liqueur
  • 1.5 oz half and half

Build all ingredients over ice in a rocks glass.

Ginger Hot Toddy

We crush organic ginger root in every batch of Ginger Liqueur so that you don’t have to.

  • 1.5 oz whiskey or brandy
  • 0.5 oz New Deal Ginger Liqueur
  • 1 orange wedge (squeezed)
  • 1 lemon wedge (squeezed)
  • 1 Cinnamon stick, pinch of whole cloves
  • 1 bar spoon honey (optional)
  • Lemon twist pierced with whole cloves for garnish

Combine ingredients in an Irish coffee mug, then fill glass with hot water. Garnish with lemon twist.

Let It Snow

You might not leave home this winter.

Rub orange zest along rim of large ceramic or glass mug. Prepare Treehouse Chocolate Co. Spiced Drinking Chocolate according to instructions and pour into prepared mug. Add vodkas in varying proportions according to taste. Stir well. Finish with a generous dollop of whipped cream, a sprinkling of cinnamon and a twist of orange zest.
