The Caipirinha is Brazil’s national cocktail, usually made using cachaça, but our Distiller’s Cut Rum works beautifully.

  • half a lime
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 oz Distiller’s Cut Rum

Cut the lime into 4 pieces and place in an Old Fashioned glass. Sprinkle with sugar and muddle to release juice. Add rum and stir to mix, then add ice and stir again.


There are few cocktails more refreshing than the mojito.

  • 1 ½ oz Distiller’s Cut Rum
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 3 lime wedges
  • 8 mint leaves
  • mint sprig or lime wheel for garnish

Muddle all ingredients in a shaker, then fill with ice and shake vigorously. Strain over ice in a rocks or highball glass and garnish with mint sprig or lime wheel.

Classic Daiquiri

New Deal’s Distiller’s Cut Rum is perfect for this classic Sour recipe.

  • 2 oz Distiller’s Cut Rum
  • ¾ oz fresh squeezed lime juice
  • ½ oz simple syrup

Shake all ingredients with ice, then double strain into a coupe glass.

Combine all ingredients with ice in a shaker. Shake 20 seconds, strain into martini glass and serve up. Garnish with a cherry.

Lamb’s Tail

You can mix up this delicious cocktail in just two shakes of a lamb’s tail!

Combine all ingredients except half & half over ice in a 6-ounce rocks glass. Top with half & half.

Sailor’s Cup

When you need that extra kick to hit the high seas, this cocktail will put some wind in your sails.

  • 1 ounce New Deal Distiller’s Cut Rum
  • 1 ounce New Deal Coffee Liqueur
  • 1 ounce cold-press coffee (strong!) or espresso
  • 1 drop Angostura bitters

Layer ingredients over ice, finishing with the drop of bitters.

Pear Vanilla Sparkler

  • 1/4 of a ripe pear, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 oz. honey syrup*
  • 1/4 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz. New Deal Distiller’s Cut Rum
  • 1/2 oz. Navan (vanilla cognac)
  • 2 oz. chilled Champagne

In the bottom of a shaker, muddle the pear in the honey syrup and lemon juice. Add the New Deal Distiller’s Cut Rum and Navan and stir briefly with ice.


Strain into a chilled champagne flute or martini glass and finish with Champagne.

Garnish with a couple slices of pear.

*Honey Syrup: In a small saucepan add equal parts of honey and water, bring to a simmer until the honey has melted into the water then allow to cool.

Winter Rum Punch

  • 4 parts New Deal Distiller’s Cut Rum
  • 2 parts apple cider
  • 2 parts New Deal Ginger Liqueur
  • 1 part maple syrup
  • 1 part fresh lemon juice

Combine ingredients in a punch bowl.

Add ice when ready to serve, stir well, and pour into high ball or wine glasses.

Garnish with a cinnamon stick or a long julienne slice of ginger root.
