Help us celebrate our 10th birthday on Saturday, July 12th from 5-10pm
New Deal Distillery invites you to help celebrate ten years of perfecting the art of craft distilling. Located in the heart of Portland since opening in 2004, New Deal now owns a beautifully renovated building with a parking lot perfect for a summer celebration! We’re bringing in some long-time partners to help make the party unforgettable, with New Deal cocktails by Merit Badge and a Yelp-sponsored Bloody Mary bar, food by Smokehouse 21, Salt & Straw ice cream, and Masala Pop, and entertainment featuring stand-up comedy hosted by Jason Traeger and Brandy Feit, and music by DJ Dickel.
New Spirits Introductions and Specialty Cocktails
Help welcome New Deal’s first whiskies to the Distiller’s Workshop line, and enjoy the release of Barrel #4 Aged Rum, with tasting flights and insights from New Deal distiller, Tom Burkleaux.
Merit Badge will rock the cocktails and highlight all the New Deal spirits you’ve come to know and love. Look for a Hot Monkey Bloody Mary garnish station sponsored by Yelp.
Barbecue, Small Bites and Ice Cream!
Barbecue by Smokehouse 21 will feature lots of yummy meat and BJ’s famous Hot Monkey Barbecue Sauce. Salt & Straw is completing the barbecue madness with a batch of Spicy Monkey Banana Walnut Ice Cream made with Hot Monkey Vodka, and pour-over ice cream cocktails. Masala Pop will bring their special release Hot Monkey Pineapple Popcorn and introduce Ginger-Sesame Popcorn with Jaggery and Ginger Liqueur. And to go with all that great food, DRY will provide a variety of flavors of soda to quench your summer thirst. The barbecue is from 5-7pm, and this portion of the night is all-ages.
Live Comedy and DJ Music Sets
Jason Traeger and Brandy Feit host an hour of stand-up comedy from 7-8pm to showcase some of the Northwest’s best comedians. DJ Dickel will set the mood with a live DJ set from 8-10pm.
Goodies and Schwag
New Deal is collaborating with the talented craftspeople at Maak Lab to launch an exclusive New Deal Juniper Berry Soap, made with berries used in our small-batch gins. Plus, commemorative New Deal merchandise and barware will debut for the special occasion.
A little about our sponsors
Merit Badge offers craft cocktail & bar catering services for events in the Pacific Northwest, providing thoughtfully crafted drinks and honest, top-notch service.
Yelp makes everything better, by helping you find great local businesses.
Smokehouse 21 rubs and smokes a variety of barbecued fish, fowl, pig, lamb and cow. All of their meat and vegetables are sourced from local butchers and farmers, and the buns for their sandwiches come from Ken’s Artisan Bakery, right here in Portland
Salt & Straw is Portland’s farm-to-cone ice cream shop. Their ice cream is handmade in small-batches using only all-natural dairy with the best local, sustainable and organic ingredients Oregon has to offer, as well as imported flavors from small, handpicked farms and producers around the world.
Masala Pop handcrafts tasty Indian-spiced popcorn snacks with a kick in their Pop Shop in Southeast Portland.
Maak Lab is an exploration of the habits. Playing with nature from the streets, plant-based scents, and the Pacific Northwest environment, Maak reconstructs the ephemeral moments from nature for utility, intimate routine, and pleasure.
DRY is soda for everyone. Created specifically to be a less sweet soda, DRY has just four all natural ingredients and is sweetened with a minimal amount of pure cane sugar.
DJ Dickel is Matt Dickel from The Dickel Brothers playing songs and tunes from around the world that were recorded between 1900-1945.
